Young Promoted Vice President of NASC

Cincinnati — Elizabeth Chaney Young, formerly the director of membership and marketing for the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC), is named vice president of the organization.

She has served the NASC in various capacities since joining the organization in 2007. As director of membership and marketing she developed the annual strategy for membership recruitment and retention and oversaw all integrated marketing and communications for NASC.  In her new role, Young will oversee membership, marketing, communications, events, and education to support the continued growth of the organization and service of its members.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Elizabeth’s skill and knowledge continue her career at the NASC,” said Al Kidd, president and CEO. “Her experience with our 800 members will help us continue our growth and further our mission to expand our footprint in the sports events and tourism industry.”

“This is an exciting time at the NASC, and I thank Al for giving me this platform to continue our work with members and key industry stakeholders,” said Young. “I am looking forward to the new opportunities here at the NASC.”

Before joining the NASC, Young was an account executive for Pacers Sports and Entertainment and marketing associate for The Ohio State University Department of Athletics. She also has served as an adjunct faculty member at Northern Kentucky University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Young graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in sport and exercise management. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, American Marketing Association, and Association of Fundraising Professionals.
