Foley Sports Tourism Complex Hosts Championship Soccer
Tournaments

 

 

FOLEY, Ala. ­– The Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Championship and
the Alabama Soccer Association will be in Foley this week for tournament play.

            The Sun
Belt Women’s Soccer Championship will return to the Foley Sports Tourism
Complex for the second year in a row as eight teams compete for the title of
Sun Belt Conference Champion. The South Alabama Jaguars hope to repeat for a
fifth straight season against seven other teams, including Little Rock,
Arkansas State, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Texas State, Georgia
Southern and Troy will compete through the championship match scheduled for
Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. (CT). All matches of the tournament will be broadcast
on ESPN3 and available on the WatchESPN app.

            Fans may
also follow tournament action from the Foley Sports Tourism Complex via Twitter
(@SunBelt) or through live states on www.SunBeltSports.org.

            Admission
is free.

            In addition
to Sun Belt Conference action, The Alabama Soccer Association’s State Cup Final
Four will take place Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5 in both boys and girls
Division I and Division II State soccer competition to determine the best
soccer club in the State.

            More than
100 boys’ and girls’ soccer teams are expected to participate for a second year
in a row at the Foley complex. Between games, high school students will have an
opportunity to watch collegiate-level play during the Sun Belt Conference.

            “We know
that Foley has something special to offer events,” said FSTC Interim Director
David Thompson. “It is our goal to offer the best customer service and put on
world-class events to keep them coming back and keep brining tourism dollars to
the city.

            Games are
scheduled throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday.
