NAIA Accepting Bids for National Football Championship

The event typically generates an economic impact of more than $1 million to the community and produces approximately 1,000 hotel room nights by the participating teams, fans and visitors. The event is a single-game national championship contest between two of the best NAIA football teams.
“The NAIA has hosted a football national championship since 1956 and traditionally has drawn over 5,000 fans to the game,” said Jim Carr, NAIA president and CEO. “This event is one of the signature events, in front of a national ESPN3 audience, and we are excited to find a host partner to showcase our talented student-athletes.”
The selected host will have the opportunity to put on an all-star football game on Friday night in addition to an NAIA Showcase event. The NAIA Showcase allows NAIA schools to evaluate high school talent in a combine-style showcase event.
The game is currently broadcast nationally on ESPN3. The NAIA and ESPN have discussed elevating the game to a larger platform within the ESPN family of networks.
The deadline to submit bids is June 1, 2018.
