Panama City Beach Announces New Sports Complex


PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — The Bay County Commission approved a new $37 million sports complex on 210 acres on the east end of Panama City Beach in the Breakfast Point development.

The proposed project includes an outdoor field complex, an indoor sports center and a new elementary school.
The outdoor field complex includes 13 fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, football, flag football, baseball and softball fields. The project is designed to enhance the city’s appeal as a year-round destination for sports tournaments.

“Panama City Beach, known for world-class beaches, southern hospitality and just being a lot of fun, crossed an important milestone with the approval of its new sports park,” said Dan Rowe, President and CEO of Visit Panama City Beach. “We look forward to welcoming additional tournaments with athletes from across the country to compete and enjoy all that our destination has to offer.”

The new project sports complex will be one of the largest complexes in the southeast. Through a public-private partnership with the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, St. Joe Company and Bay District Schools.
